About

“A book, too, can be a star, a living fire to lighten the darkness, leading out into the expanding universe.” — Madeleine L’Engle

Ashlyn McKayla Ohm is passionate about telling grace-grown stories that bring readers face to face with not only the mountains but also the God Who still moves them.

Homeschooled from kindergarten through twelfth grade, Ashlyn McKayla Ohm knew that stories truly did hold the brilliance and beauty of stars. As she explored the world around her, she had a strong sense of story—making up her own tales, exulting in those she found in books, and marveling at the mysterious sense that the God of all glory was weaving a story in and through her. She felt no doubt that when she was older, she would put pen to paper and weave words of her own.

By the time she enrolled in Central Baptist College, she was still most at home where the pavement ends and the streetlights die. She earned a degree in English and missions  because for her, those two walked hand in hand—writing could bring healing for a hurting world. With the majesty of creation and the mercy of the Creator as her inspirations, she began the Climbing Higher series–combining her love of the outdoors with the truth of God’s Word. She’s passionate about writing that brings readers face to face with not only the mountains but also the God Who still moves them.
